Dean's Speaking Notes
Speaking Note Guidelines and Process
Please note that submitting a request for the dean to speak does not guarantee participation. All requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by the Dean’s Office to determine availability, and the Marketing and Communications team to manage sufficient lead time.
Associate deans, program directors, and staff are responsible for preparing their own speaking notes. To assist with this process, previous years’ notes can be provided if available.
Please note: If an associate dean is attending an event on behalf of the Dean, they can follow the process outlined below to request support.
Dean’s Speaking Note Process
Step One
Contact the Dean’s Office a minimum of four weeks before the event with the high level details (i.e., event date, time, location, purpose/goal etc.).
Step Two
- If the Dean is confirmed to attend, an intake form will be provided.
- Please complete the intake form and send it back to the Dean’s Office a minimum of three weeks before the event.
Step Three
- The Dean’s Office will share the briefing note with our Marketing and Communications team.
- Speaking notes will be created based on the information provided, incorporating relevant School/University updates.
- Draft speaking notes will be shared with the Dean for approvals (the Requestor will be copied).
